So the upshot is, the lead character will be just "james" (which is actually my name), no bond name references, hopefully clever but obscure name and trick music.

That should cover it, assuming I don't want to make money, but my film maker friend may want to show it. If it's any good, which it won't be

Shpeak to you shoon,

best of luck with your project, just thought you would like to know that Peter Jackson actually made a 'Bond' short when he was starting out with his Super8 camera.if its worth anything, alot of action, some one liners, a girl or two and you got the movie, just steer clear of any copyright stuff and there should be no troubles.

Cool

A couple of mates weren't too into being in my film and decided they were going to remake "the fast and the furious" as "the slow and the slightly peeved".
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">How about The Slow and the Satisfied? Probably not. Sounds like the title of a prono movie.

A guy from another forum I visit used to make Stargate spoofs:http://www.superteam.biz/

He sent them to the makers, who thought they were great, but then MGM threatened legal action. Looks like things could work out OK in the end, but now he's worried about a Starship Troopers spoof he has made...

He only had it online, and not for profit, so it's not about that. If someone has a problem with you using their copyright in any way, they can make you stop.

As far as I know, the only ones who are OK about fanfilms are Lucasfilm.

If you want to do a Bond one, then go ahead, but bear in mind that it won't be seen by a lot of people, one way or another...

Or "Danger Diabolik: 2005"? It's a Bond story which doesn't use the heavily trademarked name either.
